Learn, Lead, Live According to Linsly Headmaster Justin Zimmerman, the boarding school experience allows students to develop their full potential. “We believe the most comprehensive Linsly experience is lived by our boarding students,” he says. “The Linsly boarding program provides a safe, supportive and structured environment conducive to student growth, both academically and personally.” Nestled away on a quiet campus just off historic National Road is one of Wheeling’s hidden gems, The Linsly School, an independent boarding and day school for students in grades 5-12. Once known for its military roots, Linsly is now a thriving co-educational college preparatory school where 100 percent of its graduates go on to four- year universities or colleges. With more than 300 day students who live in and around the city of Wheeling and more than 100 residential students who come from seven states and 20 countries and live on campus as part of the school’s boarding program, Linsly offers one of the most diverse communities in the Ohio Valley. Saige Zervos, a junior from Morgantown, is a dancer, cheerleader and resident assistant at Linsly. “I chose to come to boarding school because I wanted to be more academically challenged,” she says. “Being a boarding student has taught me independence and has allowed me to develop my leadership skills.” The family-like atmosphere of Linsly’s boarding program is what makes it special. Each dormitory is connected to at least two faculty residences, making a student’s dorm room an extension of home. Boarding students have family- style dinners shared with faculty dorm parents and structured evening study halls supervised by faculty. On weekends, fun activities such as pizza parties, outings to Oglebay Park and ski trips to Seven Springs are planned. “Boarding life at Linsly balances the structure and discipline necessary for academic success with the nurturing support necessary for personal fulfillment,” says Zimmerman. “Whether you’re a boarding student from Spain or a student like Saige from Morgantown, Linsly’s residential program can help you grow in ways you never imagined.” 60 Knox Lane, Wheeling, WV 26003 | (304) 233-1436 | www.linsly.org
