WELLINGTON TODAY 2017 WELLINGTON COLLEGE CHINA COLLEGE AND UNIVERSITY GUIDANCE WELLINGTON COLLEGE INTERNATIONAL TIANJIN CONTINUE TO HIT NEW HEIGHTS 2016 UNIVERSITY AND COLLEGE OFFERS The academic progress of pupils at Wellington College International Tianjin continues to break new ground. This year saw I/GCSE results in excess of 95% A*-C, and both IBDP and AS pupils recorded best ever results for the school. Particular praise should go to Celia in Year 12, who gained straight A*s at I/GCSE – our first pupil to achieve such an outstanding set of grades – and Paul from Year 13, who gained an IBDP total of 42 points. This latter achievement, so close to the maximum possible score of 45, places Paul among the very best exam candidates of the year, and clearly when considered within the global context of the Diploma Programme, a fantastic result. Current first-choice offers are as follows: We are now anticipating another record-breaking year from all our candidates, whether it be at I/GCSE, A Level or IBDP. Our young people have shown consistent hard work and sense of purpose, allied to the skill and dedication of our teaching staff. They are all to be congratulated for another great year of achievement for the school. – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – Fashion Design, London College of Fashion (UK) Television Media, University of British Columbia (Canada) Industrial Design, Hong Ik University (Korea) Business Management, Carnegie Mellon University (US) Art & Business, University of New South Wales (Australia) Business, Konkuk University (Korea) Economics, UC Davis (US) Biomedical Engineering, University of Rochester (US) Computer Science, UC Berkeley (US) Biomedicine, Queen Mary’s, University London (UK) Computer Science & Biology, Hamilton College (US) Economics, Penn State University (US) Maths, University of Connecticut (US) Business Economics, UC Irvine (US) Economics, University College London (UK) Industrial Design, Rhode Island School of Design (US) Fashion Design, Parsons School of Art and Design (US) Mathematics, St Olaf College (US) Psychology, Queen Mary’s University London (UK) Business Management, University of Queensland (Australia) Mechanical Engineering, Hanyang University (Korea) Chemical Engineering, UC Davis (US) Foundation in Art & Design, Camberwell College of Arts (UK) Government, Cornell University (US) In addition to these first-choice offers, senior school pupils have received interest, offers and scholarships from a much wider range of universities, with the vast majority of pupils receiving on average 3-4 offers from universities and colleges in the US, UK, Korea, Australia, China and Canada.
