BOARDING AT
WELLINGTON
PUPILS’ TESTIMONIALS AT BENSION
‘As a member of the boarding house, I really enjoy and value the
time that I spend with my room-mates, who have been been
each other’s family by supporting one another. In boarding, there
are lots of activities waiting for you, especially for a weekend
boarder. We hang out every Sunday regularly, for instance, ice
hiking and skiing, with visits to the Water Park and Zoo. What I
love the most about Benson is that we can make lots of friends,
improving our social and communication skills. Studying in the
Library during preparation after school builds up an atmosphere
of studying independently, and also encourages us to learn
better. It truly helps us with our school work in order to achieve
higher grades. Being part of this big family, I’ve become more
independent and organized, learned how to deal with all kinds of
relationship issues, and to improve my unique personality. Living
in Benson is a great experience in my high school life and it will
be one of my most unforgettable memories!’
April, Year 12
‘I have lived in the boarding house for about 3 years. There
are lots of things which have changed in the last 3 years, but I
like what it is now. School days usually end at 4:45pm. After 15
minutes break, boarders go to the Library for study. At 6Ppm, we
go down to the dining hall to eat dinner, and of course, the food
is perfect. After dinner, we go back to library, and then study for
another one hour, so that we all have enough study time.
Another good thing about the Benson is that there are extra
activities, which is what the boarders choose. Also, worth
mentioning is that our housemasters (Mr and Mrs Bradley) who
are always pleased if we have any ideas or problems to share,
they will always listen and consult with us. This makes me feel
free in Benson, and I don’t struggle in speaking with them. I feel
very safe in Benson. Every time we arrive at the Benson or leave
Benson, we go together, and make sure no one is missing.
In the morning, we wake at 7am. There’s a matron who will call
us in the morning, so we don’t have to worry about being late.
After we get up and dress, it is around 7:40am, we go to school.
Then it’s breakfast, which is good, we eat till 8:15am, then the
normal school day starts.
‘Currently, I’m living in the dormitory of the school with 5 other
friends in a girls’ apartment. As a total, we have approximately
