There are currently 330 mining licences in place to start fracking in the gorgeous Gloucester
Valley and over 800 licenses to frack above and around our Artesian Basin. The Great Artesian
Basin is one of the largest underground water reservoirs in the world. It underlies approximately 22
per cent of Australia and is the main water source for 75% of inland Australian communities.
The gas they are wanting is not for Australian use. It will be exported. The state of Texas was
the first place to start and then ban fracking.
