ENRICHMENT CO-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES (CCA) Wellington's Co-Curricular Activities (CCA) programme provides an exciting opportunity for Wellington pupils to explore new activities, cultivate new interests and develop a variety of skills. Within each school of the College, the activities are run for pupils across the range of year groups allowing our pupils to connect and make friends with children of different ages. From year 3 onwards, CCAs form an integral and compulsory part of the school day. The annual tuition fees include participation in the CCA programme (save for a small number of activities for which there is a minimal charge). CCA choices change three times per year with new activities being allocated at the start of each term. The CCA options are selected online and pupils are asked to indicate two choices for each day. We will try our best to accommodate a pupil’s first choice option; however some activities are restricted to a maximum number of pupils therefore some pupils will be allocated their second choice activity. Allocations will not be made on a first-come-first-served basis, although late submissions will be given lowest priority. Parents will be notified when the activities for the next term are available for selection. CCAs in Pre-Prep Pupils in year 1 and 2 may participate in two CCAs per week on a Tuesday and Thursday. Reception children experience one CCA in the summer term. CCAs in Prep and Senior Schools The CCA programme places emphasis on academic enrichment and support alongside the physical and creative activities. During the Academic block of the CCA programme, pupils will be involved in one of four aspects: − Prep session: these will be held in the house/ form/class rooms and will be run by tutors which will encourage greater pastoral contact time. This will also create a better working environment so that pupils can be productive in getting their prep done. It is expected that pupils work in silence. − Enrichment: The sessions are meant as an exciting opportunity to take their level of understanding beyond that of the specification and challenge them. Pupils will be invited to attend by the heads of department. − Support: Those deemed in need of academic support will be invited to attend. The sessions will also happen during lunch period. During the physical and creative block of the CCA programme, pupils will select from a wide range of activities. Please note that CCAs do not run in the first week of a new term.
