Playgrounds and Parks
The showcased parks are managed and maintained by the Town of Cochrane.
They are key service we offer our residents to maintain
an active and social lifestyle.
Commando Park
Part of Cochrane’s charm is beautiful Lake Commando, situated at the center of town. This special lake is a community treasure, hosting many events and activities every year. The supervised downtown beach is a summer favourite for children and parents.
Our newest recreational activities at the beach
include kayak, canoe, paddle boards and pedal
boat rentals, as well as a Tube Water Slide that
splashes into Lake Commando. Outdoor BBQ's
are located around Commando Park and
Memorial Park, free for residents and visitors
to use.
A new facility is being built on the peninsula to host many events. Building is due to open in 2018!
Memorial Park
On Lake Commando, Memorial Park commemorates the fallen soldiers of Cochrane who have fought for our country.
This popular walking and cycling trail connects
through the center of Commando Lake and
around to the town’s retail hub, passing over
the Commando bridge and beside the
bandstand.
