Weekend Warrior Woodworking Issue #1 December 2013 | Page 6

Welcome to Weekend Warrior Woodworking Magazine! A quarterly magazine that is completely free. The magazine contains articles written by woodworkers from all over just like you and I. If you are at all like me, you work at all of hours of the day and night in the shop. A three day weekend means an extra day or night in the shop. I know I am not the only one who walks in from their shop and realizes that it’s 1:30 in the morning or even later. My shop and skills are constantly evolving and I would not have it any other way. Might not be my dream shop but it’s a place where ideas and projects are created along with the satisfaction I get when I place a custom piece of furniture in my house or someone else’s. I know I am not alone, in fact I would venture a guess that I am in the majority.

I welcome any constructive feedback that you might have. A lot work went into the creation of this magazine not only from me but from the Associate Editor and Contributors. None of us a professional woodworkers or journalist so the magazine will continually evolve with each issue. What’s important is your feedback. Letting us know what you want to see in future issues of the magazine. If you have an idea for the magazine and would like to write an article, build a project or show off your shop, I will gladly publish it.

A big thank you goes out to Marc Spagnuolo (A.K.A The Wood Whisperer) for the guild membership that I gave away but more importantly for his guidance and mentorship and just being an all around “good dude!” I would like to Thank Michael Kelley for his hard work as Associate Editor and Forestry Corner. I would like to thank the contributors; Mel Morris, Daniel Clark, Scott Spencer, and Ross and Cody McCormick. I would also like to give a big thank you to Bell Forest Products for supplying the wood for a couple of the projects and for the 10 BF Project Pack that we gave away! I would also like the thank Festool USA for the DTS 400 sander, abrasives and mini systainers. A big thank also goes out to Lie-Nielsen Toolworks for the Low Angle Jack Plane that we gave out.

I hope you enjoy the Ezine and I look forward to hearing your feedback.
