Notes:

Note 1 This measure is based on how deep you decide to make your dado or if decide on different shelf joinery. This shelf uses 3/8"

Note 2 The selection of plywood depends on how you join your back panel. I used 1/4" grooves. These parts should be cut after the case pieces and measurement should be taken right from the case.

I let the wood acclimate for about 3 weeks in my shop prior to use. The material came milled to 13/16th. I wanted to cut everything down to rough size before I determined whether any more milling was required. After cutting the wood to rough dimensions I determined that no extra milling was required and just moved forward.

I used a lumber crayon to mark out the rough dimensions of each piece.

I went "old school" and used a saw bench and hand saw rough out the components.

I labeled each part after it was cut to help keep everything in order.

Here are the parts cut to their rough dimensions. I kept everything at least a 1/2" oversized.

All of the cabinet parts cut to final dimension.

I jointed one edge of the tops, bottoms, and sides of the door and cabinet.
