The general standard for auditing today

More manufacturers than nonmanufacturers in the survey said their corporate offices have the chief responsibility for scheduling and managing formal audits.

Within most of the surveyed corporations, the auditing function is actually housed in an environment department, a health and safety department, or a combined environmental and health and safety department.
