The general standard for auditing today
86% of respondents said they have a formal audit program. The larger the organization, the more likely to have a program.
Publicly traded companies were more likely to have started auditing before 1999 than their privately held counterparts.
Manufacturers tend to have started auditing earlier than nonmanufacturers:
53% started before 1999 as compared with 44% of nonmanufacturers.
