Company breached Section 3(1) of the Health and Safety at Work etc Act 1974, which relates to failing to ensure the safety of non-employees. USA: February 2015, Ashley Furniture faces $1.76M in fines after OSHA finds more than 1,000 worker injuries at Wisconsin site in past 36 months £150,000, 1 death $2.4 Million UK: May 2015, tyre manufacturer Pirelli fined £150,000 after an employee died when he became trapped in an industrial autoclave for more than two hours. Investigation found no system in place to make sure the autoclave was checked before it was switched on. USA: Olivet Management LLC, a real estate development and management company faces a total of $2,359,000 in proposed fines from OSHA. The company has been cited for exposing its own employees, as well as employees for 13 contractors, to asbestos and lead hazards ¥16 Million, Jail China: Jinye Company fined 16 million Yuan for discharging Arsenic. Company President and General Manager were imprisoned for 3 & 4 years respectively and fined between 150,000 and 300,000 Yuan ₩360 Million South Korea: In 2014, the highest reward under the Act on the Protection of Public Interest Whistleblowers went to an employee who reported that his company did not notify 90 occupational when it was required to do so.
