Students gain
experience with
local organizations
Senior sociology major Tameca Bourne has
been interning at the Ronald McDonald House
of Augusta during the spring semester. She helps
manage the day-to-day operations of the house,
and has learned the importance of community.
At the Charles B. Webster Detention Center
in south Augusta are two criminal justice
majors, senior Quinn Walker and junior
Chelsea Nwaneri. As part of their internships,
each student has spent time at the courthouse,
the criminal investigation division, and the
detention center. They each said the courthouse
was the most interesting part of the internship
and have used their experiences to guide their
professional direction.
