Fine Arts Center to be renovated
The Fine Arts Center, which houses
the Department of Music, is going to see
some changes thanks to a $3.5 million
renovation project.
The renovation will shift parts of
the building’s current layout to better
accommodate the needs of the department
and provide a more functional design.
“The building originally housed art,
music, and theater. Then in the 1990s,
it was housing both art and music,”
noted Dr. Angela Morgan, chair of the
Department of Music. “It has gone through
a number of bandage renovations, but
this will be the first time that it will have
a renovation that is tailor made for music,
which is super exciting.”
As part of the redesign, a new recital hall
will be created. Construction is expected
to start at the beginning of next year with
a tentative completion date in time for the
start of Fall Semester 2019.
