To this day, whenever I hear, play, or teach this work, I always think of Nissa.” Her parents wanted to support other young musicians, as a way to honor their daughter’s memory. The 12 | #WeArePamplin · Fall 2018 Nissa Bren Moles Music Scholarship is awarded every year to a deserving string player. “Nissa wasn’t able to make her full mark on the world herself,” wrote her father, “but she does so now through this scholarship.” This year’s scholarship recipient is Dawn St. Hill, a violin student who attended Hephzibah High School. She has been playing violin for ten years. “I was shocked and ecstatic to hear that I would be receiving the scholarship,” St. Hill says. Pamplin College would like to be able to award multiple scholarships to deserving music students like Dawn through Nissa’s legacy.
