Shahin El Masr 1992 - 2005
Shahin daughters have been the best blessing for us and the grandsire of several Champions here & in the middle East . Les St . Clair called to say his sire was soon to be exported to Australia . A quick trip to Ocala and only one cover , with bringing our two mares back to Wisconsin the 3rd day , gave us what Lois St . Clair called " the immaculate conception ." Yes a filly & a colt … the only mares Anaza El Nizr had bred . He went on to be Australian National Champion and both Shahin and his sister Razali El Masr went onto be multi-Champions .
I remember how my body stood still in total emptiness when Dick told me Shahin had died . So much of our lives went with this most kind stallion . The evening before he died I went into the corral and hugged him and as he wrapped his head and neck around pressing me to his body , the tears flowed as I told him that I loved him . Shahin waited till we returned from the Egyptian Event to say a last good bye . A remarkable state of circumstances & choices that now years later have given us our success . I still love the memory of that wonderful horse .
