As NIAF approached the celebrations
for its 40th Anniversary, and the Foundation’s current leadership began
to look with renewed interest on our
founders and origins, in 2015 the NIAF
Board decided to redesign and rechristen the Council 2000 (what the original Council of 100 evolved into) as
the Italian American Leadership Council (IALC). In doing so, the Foundation
returned this much heralded group to
its original intent by creating an association within NIAF for those most dedicated Italian American leaders to be
part of the NIAF’s financial and advisory management.
It is only fitting that as NIAF prepares
for another four decades and beyond,
we should look back to original impetus behind our creation as we buJohn Viola ild new and engaging programs for a
much changed Italian American community.
