Italian Design: Piero Lissoni wins Compasso D'oro prize
The Italian designer PieroLissoni is the winner of the XXIII edition of Compassod’Oro. The Door L16 LUALDI has been rewarded as Compassod’Oro 2014. The awards ceremony took place on May 28th, in Milan.
L16 has a depth of 16mm, is composed with soundproof materials andis available in matte or glossy lacquer or in selected wood finishes. The surface is smooth and clean, the concept is to maintain the door as an architectural element which could define the space and the color finishes.
The key point of the project is a super thin and light shuttle, similar to a foil of paper. The door is studied to have a smooth and light move and the door itself does not show any element of it. This made its uniformity and clean appearance.
