My obstacles have been mostly the tape that plays through my head about having a “real job” or “do you really make any money at that?”

Comments asked mostly by an older generation that may not have the sense that you can do what you love and the money will follow. Unfortunately, those words can haunt a person “struggling” to pursue their dream. In the past, fear sometimes got the better of me and I would turn my back on the horse photography and focus on a 9-5 regular job. Now, I’ve given up on the struggle – I love what I do and I am sure art buyers and horse lovers will love what I create and find a way to discover my Horse Art and then purchase it for their home.

Fun-Raising

People will ask where I find my four-legged models. I often do photo shoots of horses from various horse rescues around Arizona and then donate a portion of the sales of those images back to the charity. I like to call it “fun-raising”. I also attend photography workshops which give me the opportunity to photography some flashy horses. I also use a lot of photos from the commissioned shoots I do for my clients. My clients love how I can take their backyard horse and turn it into an amazing piece of artwork- it gives them bragging rights. I am proud of my accomplishments, my persistence, and my dedication. My goals for the future would be to continue creating beautiful horse images, find more art collectors, galleries and retail stores or specialty boutiques that would like to distribute my horse art. I have recently released a line of photo cutting boards and coasters and am seeking distributors I market my business by creating horse art that reaches out from the wall and touches the viewer’s heart. I want people to be moved by my art work. I want them to feel freedom –strength – healing – encouragement, and delight when they look at my horse art. Those are the same things I feel when I am with a horse and when I am home creating the artwork.
