fall apart at the show, or a horse is sidelined, or a going for a goal is delayed, I cherish my value of trust. This comforts me and gives me courage when things are difficult.

These are just a few examples of my values. I shared them to explain how they show up in real situations and why connecting to your values can be a way to strengthen yourself on your path to success with your horse.

Getting in touch with what you value will help light your way in good times and in struggles. It will connect you to the real you on the inside. It will feel safe and authentic within when you stay true to them ... again, especially during difficulties.

It's all an adventure. When you're in touch with and stay true to your values, you will become more resilient. It takes courage. Know that what you value, has nothing to do with what other people value.

Take a moment. Identify what's important to you in your riding life. This exercise will feel empowering. Then review your values often.

Connecting to your values will light your way forward as you make empowering choices, in both victories and when you fall (as we all do). Stay true to you. That's confidence building.
