Skincare Basics For Both Gents and Bellas By Sefrina – For Gente Bella Salon and Spa It’s never too early, or too late to start taking care of your skin. 3 things that are a must: cleanser, toner and moisturizer. Morning and night wash your face, whether it’s with a cream or oil free cleanser. I always recommend a cleanser rather than a bar soap, simply because a bar will dry out your skin and sometimes leave a soapy film on your face. Secondly, tone after you have washed your face, this restores the PH balance of your skin. It’s important to read the ingredients to make sure there is no alcohol in what you’re using, alcohol is too harsh on your skin and will dry out and maybe even damage your skin if used continually. Thirdly, top those steps off by moisturizing your skin! Even oily skin types need something to keep it hydrated. If you find your skin to be dry, you might want to try a moisturizer that is a little richer. If your skin is oily, using a water based moisturizer with a thinner consistency is best. Those are just the basics, eventually you can branch out to exfoliating, masking and peeling! So explore! See what’s out there and what works best for you. You’ll never know until you try! No idea what kind of skin type you are? Don’t know where to begin in buying product? Book an appointment with one of our estheticians and we will tell you all this and more. If you’ve never had a facial before and want to know how wonderful they are for the preservation of your skin and relaxing for your body, come on in and get one! The sooner you start learning how to take care of your skin; the least likely you are to run into problematic skin later in life. You and your skin are worth it!
