How To Pick Your Perfect Prom Hair By Magdalena – For Gente Bella Salon and Spa Rule #1: Choose the dress first. Your hair should complement your dress. It should not compete with it. Rule #2: Consider your personality. You want to feel like yourself. If you are a casual girl who never wears makeup, then prom is probably not the day to break out your inner diva. It is prom though so you want to look at your pictures 10 years from now and still love them! ( But still look like yourself) Rule #3: Work with your hair texture. I recommend you don't fight your natural texture. Curly hair looks amazing either down or up. Straight hair can be curled into waves and wound into all sorts of updos (with the help of pins and hairspray). Wavy hair can be either straightened or curled and is the perfect texture for half-up/half-down styles as well as updos. I recommend booking a consultation with your hair stylist 2 weeks prior to prom. You want it to be close enough to the date so you don’t have time to change your mind too many times but yet you’ve had enough time to research the look you want and commit to it. It is a great idea to bring your stylist pictures of hairstyles you like and let them help guide you in the right direction. Remember rule #3! Pick pictures that are similar to your texture and length of hair to make sure the look can be achieved. There are so many possibilities! Messy updos, half up half down styles, classic sleek styles, down and wavy, down and curly, side swept hair, braids.. the list goes on and our fabulous stylists here at Gente Bella are willing to help you shine on your big prom night out!
