PHOTO BY BRETT SVENSON ACTIVITIES The thing that sets Panchito’s apart as a gift shop is the fact that it’s more than just a gift shop—it’s an active fun zone! On Wednesdays and Fridays from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM*, you can practice the vibrant art of Alebrije. With the help of a Mexican folk artist, you can paint your own figurine with bright colors and patterns reminiscent of the time-honored tradition. There is a minimal fee involved, but you leave with a truly one-of-a-kind souvenir. Panchito’s also has a coloring station for little ones and a “Pin Fiesta” trading station for pin collectors. PERSONALIZATION On Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM*, an animation artist comes into Panchito’s as well, offering personalized signage for purchase. Guests often choose to have children’s names, family names, or special dates drawn with details of favorite characters. You can even have a caricature added on the side. Prices range from $30 to $60 depending on the level of detail, and custom frames are available for an additional $20.
