Dad’s 3 Common Sense Tips For Moderate Resorts At WDW If you are a first time visitor to Walt Disney World, there are a few things you might want to know before you get there. #1 - Check the Recreation Calendar When I think about entertainment at WDW my mind goes right to the parks. Not so much to the resorts, but there is some really cool entertainment that goes on every day at the Moderate Resorts. All of the Moderate Resorts have activities that go on throughout the day. Most of them are centered around the pools. Activities include things like arts and crafts, trivia, pool games, hula-hoop contests, and lots more. Every evening ends with a campfire and a “Movie Under the Stars.” Check out the Daily Entertainment Calendar to see what’s happening. #2 – Try the pools The pools at the Moderate Resorts are pretty special. From dragons to pirates to Mayan ruins, the pools at the Moderate Resorts have character. Each resort has multiple pools, but there is one main theme pool, which is cool. At the Caribbean Beach Resort, it’s a Spanish Fortress where you almost expect Captain Jack Sparrow to show up and cause some mischief. At Coronado Springs Resort you’ll “dig” for treasure on a Mayan ruin complete with a pyramid temple. Head over to the Port Orleans Riverside and it’s an old “swimmin’ hole,” while over at the French Quarter a big dragon winds it’s way around the pool. All of these pools feature a water slide. In addition to the theme pool there are smaller pools around & even some quiet pools for the adults. #3 – Package delivery Hauling packages around the parks all day and on the buses back to the hotel in the evening can be kind of frustrating. It can even be a little dangerous if you leave something along the way. Almost all of the gift shops offer Resort Hotel Delivery of purchases. All you do is tell the clerk you want your package delivered to your hotel and they’ll set it up. The best part is, it’s free. (It does take up to 36 hours so don’t do it on your last day.) All you do is go to the hotel gift shop and pick it up. So easy. For more advice with Dad-ittude, visit dadsguidetowdw.com
