Walt Disney World has five Moderate Resorts—Caribbean Beach, Coronado Springs, the
Cabins at Fort Wilderness, Port Orleans French Quarter, and Port Orleans Riverside.
Ignoring the Cabins, which are very different, the other Moderates are positioned
between Disney World’s Value Resorts and Deluxe Resorts.
Moderate Resorts have medium sized rooms with (mostly) queen beds, understated but
pleasant theming, motel-style exterior corridors and doors, fine but not special pools,
adequate but not special dining, and some amenities. They have high prices compared to
off-site options with equivalent rooms and amenities, but mid to lower prices among the
Disney-owned options that typically offer many more perks than off-site options. Some
Standard Moderate Rooms sleep five, but most sleep four.
Value Resorts have smaller rooms, full beds (mostly), motel-style exterior corridors and
doors, weaker dining and thinner amenities, more playful, kid-appealing exterior
decorations, and are typically half the price of the Moderates. All Standard Value Rooms
sleep four.
Deluxe Resorts typically have Moderate comparable or larger-sized sleeping areas, nicer
baths, hotel-style interior hallways and doors, balconies or patios, better amenities, much
better dining, more distinctive theming, some of them themed to spectacular kid appeal
(and some honestly dull), and better access to at least one theme park. Rooms in them are
