PHOTO BY STEPHANIE SHUSTER Siestas Cantina is located at The Dig Site, a catch-all recreation area featuring a massive Mayan-inspired pyramid, complete with a waterfall that flows into the enormous pool. There’s a waterslide, a wading pool, a hot tub, and plenty of space to lounge about. Ping Pong, a playground area, and beach volleyball allow your family to spend a lovely afternoon playing together. There’s also an arcade (with my favorite – massage chairs!) and a great change room with towels, showers, and bathroom facilities. At night, you can enjoy roasting marshmallows at a bon fire or catch an outdoor film at Movies Under the Stars. In case you’re looking for more activity, there’s a scenic running trail that was actively used throughout the day. For a slower pace you could simply take a stroll around the resort or rent a Surrey bike! There are lots of lovely places to stop and rest and take it all in. So, if like me, you’re a nay-sayer when it comes to Walt Disney World’s Moderate Resorts, give Coronado Springs a try and let it whisk you away with it’s relaxing tempo, spacious grounds, and well-appointed rooms. Don’t forget to have some of those churros… yes, they’re that good.
