feature that will locate Disney Stores in your area.
I could spend hours scrolling through the photos of fun items,
clicking through the collections and wishing I could buy it all.
Though I enjoy doing this, there are a couple things I would
change about shopDisney.
When you are clicking into categories and searching around
the app, if not using an Apple device, your in-phone back
button is rendered useless, and you can only use the back
button built into the upper left corner. This means my natural
instinct to go to the bottom of my screen leads to exiting the
app entirely.
Another issue I have with shopDisney is the ability or inability to take screenshots within
the app. Apple devices can take screenshots, but this luxury isn’t available for other
devices. This isn’t a big deal most of the time, but for a shopping app I find myself wanting
to take a snap of various items to send to others, especially my mom, to ask if I should get
it (or, in the case of my mom, if she’ll buy it for me).
In my opinion, sharing images of my favorite items would be a great way to inspire future
purchases from others. I am more likely to buy something if I
have the approval of a couple friends before I make my final
decision.
Overall, the shopDisney app is fun, easy to use, and a quick
and easy way to accidentally spend more money than I
probably should. However, part of the fun of going to Walt
Disney World is seeing the exciting shops, beautiful window
displays, and unique merchandise. Even shopDisney cannot
replace going to the parks and finding the perfect souvenir to
remember your perfect trip. Nothing can beat the real thing,
no matter how great they make it.
