resulted in the Lord Mayor leading a two minute silence
at the start of the Show during which our video screens
were amended to read ‘Remembering Paris’. Despite
the visible presence of many armed police officers – and
of course the rain – the Show was a thoroughly
enjoyable event for all concerned.
Preceding our float was the Royal Signals White
Helmets motorcycle display team who also provided two
daring quad bike outriders. They put on a marvellous
display of spins, skids and wheelies for the crowd that
set the tone for plenty of cheering and interaction with
the public.

Helmets display team formed their 15 man fan on
motorbikes; the “fan” saluted the Lord Mayor and
provided one of the highlights of the Show. As our float
passed Mansion House the LED panels were changed
to display ‘Congratulations to the Lord Mayor from
WCIT’. Feedback from the crowds indicated that our
float really made a positive impact and was a ‘Spectacle
for All Ages’.
