FELLOWSHIP
MONITOR
RNLI Tower Lifeboat Station
T
he WCIT fellowship had another great visit to the Tower Lifeboat
Station in the summer, with thirteen members and guests again being
hosted by Andrew Stewart, the Visits Officer at the Royal National
Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) station.
He informed us that the lifeboat on station is one of only three in existence and
was designed specifically for the job; the other two are at Chiswick and
Southend stations (the three busiest in the country,
although Tower has twice as many call outs ('shouts') as
Chiswick, which is busier than Southend).
The evening was topped off with an enjoyable time at
the RS Hispaniola, with drinks on deck and a lively meal
inside.
Contributed by Liveryman Peta Walmisley
Many thanks to Peta Walmisley who presented Peter and
the RNLI with a cheque on behalf of the Company.
