Rick Zuniga - Male Fitness Model We first met Rick at one of the Kansas City WBFF Posing Clinics. He immediately stood out for his positive attitude and great physique. He was the first place winner in the online voting competition! Where are you from, and what do you do for a living? Orlando, Florida - United States Air Force, Whiteman AFB Missouri. B-2 Stealth Bomber Weapons Loader- NASM certified personal trainer and I work at the base gym. What 3 words would you use to describe yourself? Caring, Dedicated and Hardworking What’s the most exciting part of competing with the WBFF? Bringing fashion into a fitness show, it’s a great blend and adds a different aspect to the show. What is the greatest obstacle you have faced on your fitness journey? In 2006 while stationed in Italy, I was hit head on by a careless driver while riding my motorcycle. I ended up with a broken back to include 3 vertebra, my sternum and 4 ribs broken. It took a few months to learn to walk again after having spinal surgery to fuse 6 vertebras together. What or who was your inspiration to compete? Since I got into the fitness world the main person that has stuck me most is Dana Linn Bailey. The times I’ve got to meet her she’s been so down to earth and never too busy to talk and give advice. She’s very strong hard working person. What is your favorite body part to train and favorite exercise? I love training my legs. I’m lucky enough to have legs that will listen and grow very well. My favorite exercise would have to be leg extensions. Seeing the quad separation is something else. What advice would you give to someone who wants to get in amazing shape and compete? Do it for yourself and no one else. This has to be about your personal goals and ambition. When it gets tough stay strong and don’t give up. Who would you like to thank? First, I’d like to thank my loving wife for being there every step of the way and pushing me when I was having bad days. To my friends and family that supported me and the ones that were there helping me get through this. It truly means a lot to me. Also, my coach Ryan Spiteri. Without him and the help and assistance he’s given me I don’t think I could have got this physique I have. He is not only a good coach and mentor but has become a friend to me. I look forward to someday meeting him face to face and having a pose off. Thanks Ryan for all the support Bruh!
