Pristine Alexander - Diva Bikini Model Pristine did an outstanding job for the pre-show online voting competition and took home 1st place with hundreds of votes from her fans and friends! Where are you from, what category are you competing in, and what do you do for a living? I am originally from a small town in Kansas, but have lived in the Kansas City area for over 10 years now. I will be competing in Diva Bikini Model. I am an occupational therapist in a skilled nursing and rehab facility. Primarily, I provide rehab to patients to perform at their highest selfcare level of function after a hospitalization, injury, or health issue. What 3 words would you use to describe yourself? “Too high strung” haha Kidding! Ambitious, Honest, Fun What’s the most exciting part of competing with the WBFF? Making new friends while getting glammed up and bringing new, fun posing and energy to the WBFF stage! What is the greatest obstacle you have faced on your fitness journey? My glutes. Haha. There is truth to that, but on another note - I have been competing for 3 years now and haven’t used a trainer or coach the last two. There is a lot of interesting, and often conflicting information, research, opinions and ways to do things. More than one way can be right or work, and making decisions about what I want to do or try next can be challenging. What or who was your inspiration to compete? Initially, it was from seeing Katrina Volonnino’s WBFF pictures on Facebook! I got into competing and I didn’t actually know her then, but she bought one of my dogs’ puppies and we’ve since then become great friends. We will soon be stepping on stage together a second time now - on the WBFF stage this time! What is your favorite body part to train and favorite exercise? All of them! You’d think I’d be burned out on training glutes, but I am still highly motivated to take on leg days and try to kill’em 2x/wk. I was getting into some powerlifting, loving deadlifts, and learning better squat form this last off season, but I transitioned more toward trying to routinely isolate glutes with stuff like bridges, or Brett Contreras exercises. What advice would you give to someone who wants to get in amazing shape and compete? Best time to start is the present. No matter what happens, and life will happen, stay determined. Be ready to make a lifestyle change and love the results of it! Who would you like to thank that has been an integral part of your journey to the stage? There are too many people to list, from old trainers, to new friends and old ones, to the “fit fam” to the real fam. I have met, become friends with, or even just follow a lot of great people who have been an integral part of my passion to lift, workout, track what I eat (cannot leave that important part out of the equation!), and hit the stages!
