11:00-11:45 Cherry City Cloggers : Clogging is an American folk dance with roots in traditional European dancing , early African-American dance , and traditional Cherokee dance . The dancer ’ s footwear is used to create audible percussive rhythms . Clogging was a social dance in the Appalachian Mountains as early as the 1700s . Established in 1989 , the Cherry City Cloggers is one of the largest clogging clubs in the Northwest .
12:00-12:45 Molly Malone Irish
Dancers : We celebrate Irish heritage through a mixture of soft and hardshoe dances . Dance numbers include solo competition steps , traditional group dancing and modern dances made popular by shows like Riverdance .
1:00-1:45 Juliana and PAVA : This unique vocal ensemble from Seattle performs ancient Russian folk songs . Russian singer and ethnomusicologist , Juliana Svetlitchnaia has been collecting and learning these songs for the last 20 years in expeditions to remote Russian villages where they existed for centuries , passed down through generations solely by oral tradition . Some of the songs are performed acapella , while others are accompanied by authentic folk instruments , such as the Russian hurdy-gurdy , balalaika , various flutes or percussion . The singers wear eye-catching , colorful , authentic costumes also brought back from the villages . Some of the costumes are over 200 years old . The name of the group , PAVA , means peacock , and refers to a favorite song where it carries a symbolic significance .
2:00-2:45 Dabke : This modern Arab folk dance is performed in Palestine , Lebanon , Jordan , Iraq , Syria , and Saudi Arabia . This high energy performance combines circle dance and line dancing and is widely performed at weddings and other joyous occasions . Presented by the Arab American Cultural Center of Oregon ( AACCO ).
3:00-4:00 Claddagh Celtic Dancers : The word Claddagh comes from centuries old Ireland , from a legend that represents Love , Loyalty and Friendship . Indeed , many in the troupe have danced together for over 14 years . Today , they dance many original pieces choreographed by the troupe : Stacey Brown , Daryla Haven , LeAnn Goodenberger , Sheri Leipzig , Danica Galindo , and Kirsten Larson . Step dancer Lee O ’ Hara and Piper Darroll Morehouse join . This show ’ s got a bit of the Leprechaun in it . Enjoy !

4:15-5:00 Agrupación Folklórico OÑiKAN : Freila Merencio began her dancing career at the tender age of five . Born in Havana , Cuba in 1971 , she grew up in her grandfather ’ s house which also doubled as a cultural center for performers and practitioners of various Afro-Cuban cultural traditions . It was in her grandfather ’ s professional company called “ Liberación 75 “ that she began performing as a soloist . Now based in Portland , Oregon , Freila continues her legacy as lead dancer and choreographer of Afro-Cuban folkloric dances , drumming and songs , rumba , kongo and lucumi .

Sky in the Road : Gypsy music , gypsy jazz , Ukranian gypsy and klezmer music , from that magical place where heaven meets earth : a blend of ethereal and rhythmic , of eternal and temporal – where the Sky meets the Road .
6:45-7:45 Randy Kem 4TET : Jazz quartet featuring keyboard , bass and drums .
