WA X H AW ’ S V I S ION Waxhaw is a friendly, vibrant, prosperous town where history and creativity build an enduring, safe and healthy community for people of all ages to live, learn, work, play or grow a business. TOWN MANAGER’S MESSAGE All summer long, Waxhaw staff has been working hard to maintain our town’s reputation as the best place to live, work, and play. The Town of Waxhaw was once again named one of the safest places to live in North Carolina. Our Police Department largely contributes to this title. Waxhaw PD has not only won several awards for their safety standards, but also organized community events to build transparency and trust between local officers and residents. You can read about Waxhaw PD’s community events on page 5-6. Over the last year, town staff has been hard at work. We recently held our annual Employee Recognition Luncheon where we celebrated staff’s accomplishments and development over the last year. This event motivates our staff to grow as a team so they can better serve their community. You can read more about their achievements on page 4. Finally, Waxhaw is one of the best cities to get outside and play. Our staff is hard at work on the Parks & Recreation Strategic Master Park Plan. Part of this process is a survey that will help us determine the best way to improve Waxhaw parks. If you’d like to share your input, please come to one of the Parks & Rec public workshops on September 6th. You can read more about the Parks survey on page 7. We hope you’ve had a wonderful summer living, working, and playing in Waxhaw. Greg Ferguson Greg Ferguson Town Manager [email protected]
