6 7 EVENTS ROUNDUP Partners in Care Celebration Week We honored fellow health care providers during Partners in Care Celebration Week, May 16 - 20. Activities included manager rounding, breakfast, a baked potato bar, a lunch in conjunction with EMS Appreciation Week on May 19, and a very competitive chili cookoff! Relay for Life Baylor Scott & White Medical Center sponsored and participated with a team led by The Cancer Center in Relay for Life events in Ennis on April 30, Central Ellis County in Waxahachie on May 13, and June 10 in Midlothian. Honors and Awards Sponsored by the American Cancer Society to raise funds in the fight against cancer, teams camp out overnight and members take turns walking or running around a track or path at a local high school or park. Events are up to 24 hours long and honor cancer survivors and loved ones lost. Physician of the Month (June) James Pickens, MD Physician of the Month (July) Christian Vasilescu, MD It’s A Guy Thing® “It’s A Guy Thing,” our annual men’s health event was a huge success with more than 75 attendees. Service lines represented included Orthopedics, the Sleep Center, Wound Care, Cardiac Rehab, Pharmacy, Pulmonary, Chaplain Services, Weight Loss Surgery, Nutrition, and the Cancer Center.
