what’s working AWB Highlights Top Employer Contributions to Washington’s Quality of Life AWB’s third-annual Evening of Excellence awards put a spotlight on the positive impacts of great employers in our communities. Andrew Lenderman The 2018 Evening of Excellence featured an inspiring mix of entrepreneurs and legacy companies that are not only creating jobs but making other positive contributions to Washington’s quality of life. These companies solve complex problems, create more efficient processes and offer new opportunities for families and people facing challenges. Starting a business can be a thankless job, with tremendous risks. Entrepreneurs get up early, stay late, often risk their savings and more to take an idea and create something special that works. And maintaining this business over time carries its own challenges. AWB created the Evening of Excellence to say thank you, and to focus on the positive impact these companies make across the state. 24 association of washington business Nearly 200 people celebrated their contributions in Seattle Nov. 28. This third-annual event at Seattle’s elegant Benaroya Hall featured VIP treatment, from photos on a red carpet, to a mixer, dinner and awards. “Washington employers contribute greatly to the quality of life in our communities, and this is our chance to highlight their best work,” AWB President Kris Johnson said.
