Sometimes, drivers will seek out shortcuts. For exam-
ple, if you want to get off Ekkamai, try the mall parking
lot, just don’t forget to take the parking ticket to prove
you’re only passing through. I’ve even seen SUV driv-
ers double park and leave their car, and if the inside car
needs to get out, people simply push the obstructing
vehicle out of the way without batting an eyelash.
5. Ever wonder why the up-escalator prevents you from
exiting Phrom Pong station on the even-numbered
sois? And why does the exit at Bang Na lead you in the
other direction from BITEC? It seems like there’s no de-
mand for “shortest distance is a straight line” — the im-
pulse is to simply move whichever way the path goes.
