University of Exeter as one of the
best places to study in the UK in the
National Student Survey.”
Surrounded by beautiful country-
side, sandy beaches, national parks
and unspoiled rural villages, you
may never want to leave Exeter. But
should the call of other English beau-
ty spots or even European destina-
tions further afield beckon, Exeter is
well placed for exploration. The city
has excellent road and rail links, sits
just over two hours from London, and
even has its own airport and nearby
ferry port in neighboring Plymouth.
EXETER
The perfect blend of old and new,
Exeter is a vibrant city situated in
the heart of Devon. Wind through
the cobbled streets, admire the
medieval architecture, and marvel
at the towering Gothic cathedral,
before heading to the slick shop-
ping centre or bustling quayside
to enjoy modern cuisine at one of
the city’s many fantastic bars and
restaurants.
It’s this buzzing dichotomy between
the old and new that makes Exeter
such an appealing place to study. As
one of the UK’s top universities, and
with roots going back to 1855, the
University of Exeter became a mem-
ber of the prestigious Russell Group of
UK universities in 2012, today holding
around 15,000 students from England
and beyond.
One of those students is PhD
Drama graduate Sawita Ditayont,
who came to Consortium UK look-
ing for help with her application.
Through their guidance, she found
Exeter University, a place she chose
for both its beautiful campus and
supportive staff. “Each year, there are
many Thai students who come to
study here, so you don’t have to wor-
ry that you will feel lonely”, she says.
Fellow international graduate
Suthee Ploisawaschai agrees: “To
help us socially, there are many stu-
dent-run societies to join and to
make friends, and this might be
the reason why students rate the
