Get the Look Natural Beauty Snag Emily’s look from her outdoor photo shoot with these tips for natural beauty! RAISE A BROW TAKE IT EASY Whether you’re blond, brunette, or redheaded, you’ll benefit from defined brows with natural arches. Thin, over-plucked eyebrows can age you beyond your years. Let your brows grow back in, remove stray hairs, and fill in sparse spots with an eyebrow pencil using short, light strokes. Modern life leaves us little time for rest and recuperation, which can manifest as dark circles. Regular sleep should help reduce darkness and puffiness under the eyes, but we know that it’s difficult to get adequate rest consistently. Too many late nights? Give your eyes a more rested look by placing a cooled, damp teabag (we prefer green tea) over each eye and let sit for 15–30 minutes. This home remedy can be used weekly or even daily! VITAMINS We know a healthy balanced diet is key to looking gorgeous, but do you know the role Vitamins B and D play? Increasing Vitamin B can reduce skin irritation and redness. If you’re low on Vitamin D, your skin might be prone to breakouts and appear unnaturally yellowish. A serving of salmon will load you up on Vitamin D, and Vitamin B is plentiful in turkey and tuna. FOUNDATION Your foundation should be as sheer as possible while giving you the coverage you need. If your skin is young and relatively clear and even, you can get away with a sheer product. Select foundation with more pigment if you have many sunspots or an uneven complexion. When choosing the color, don’t test out products on your wrist. The best place to test is along your jawline. See if the shade can blend seamlessly into your neck. If not, choose a different shade. 12 WANDERLUST PEARLY WHITES A bright smile is one of the best ways to look youthful, happy, and beautiful. Baking soda is a mild abrasive that can be used to lighten teeth. To remove surface stains from coffee, colas, and wine, put one teaspoon of baking soda in a cup and add a few drops of water until a paste forms. Combine some of the mixture with your usual toothpaste then brush your teeth gently and in circular motions. Rinse thoroughly. Smile! Note: Do not brush with baking soda more frequently than once every two weeks to avoid damaging your enamel. THE RIGHT BLUSH Having trouble choosing the right blush color for your skin? There can sometimes be a dizzying selection of tones on display, from peach to mauve to bright pink. Here’s a helpful tip! For a natural look, choose a blush that matches the color of your lips. www.wanderlustmag.com
