Wallkill Valley residents did not let the frigid temperatures brought upon by last week ’ s Bomb Cyclone stop them from enjoying the winter fun .

At Walden ’ s Wooster Memorial Grove Park , Colin Kelly and Bryson Antal put on their ice skates and helmets to play ice hockey , while over at Montgomery ’ s Winding Hills Park , visitors set up camp to go ice fishing on the 40-acre frozen Diamond Lake .

Ice fishing and snowmobiling is permitted in Winding Hills Park during the daylight hours . Participants must first register at the Ranger office and snowmobiles must be insured and registered . Trails are open for cross country skiing and snowshoeing .

Winding Hills Park is located on 2 Old Rte 17K in Montgomery . For current conditions , call 457-4918 .

Ice skating is free at Wooster Memorial Grove Park on the basketball courts , located at 89 East Main Street in Walden . The park can be reached at 778-2177 .

If you want to go snow tubing , be sure to visit Thomas Bull Memorial Park , located on 211 State Rte 216 in Montgomery . For a 90-minute snow tubing session , fees for Orange County residents are $ 15 per person and non-resident fees are $ 20 per person . Tickets are sold on a first come first serve basis at the park .

The park is open for snow tubing from January 6 to March 4 from Saturdays at 10 a . m . to 8 p . m . and Sundays at 10 am to 5 p . m .

Cross country skiing , ice skating and sledding areas are also available to use until dusk when conditions permit and are free but guests are required to provide their own equipment . For current conditions , call 615-3830 .
