Women are starting to redefine the whole industry. A lot of the manufacturers are starting to focus on that segment.” The trend is evident in the store, as Enthoozies even carries a wide range of makeup compacts that feature team logos on the outside of the mirror case. Walking through the shop, it can become tempting for diehard fans to buy up everything with their favorite team’s logo on it, and repeat customers have become a staple of Maloy’s store. “We’ll have a guy come in, and he sees everything here and he’ll buy something,” the owner said. “Within a week, I’ll have his friend coming in saying ‘Bill told me you have Packers stuff.’ So I show him the Packers stuff and they’ll both be coming back to see whatever new Packers we have. It just spreads like that, because sports fans like talking about their team and seeing their stuff. The NFL is national now, so you can follow whatever team you want and you want your own stuff.” Enthoozies doesn’t traffic in autographed sports memorabilia, as that market tends to fluctuate and is rife with fraudulent items. “We stay away from the memorabilia because that’s kind of risky,” Maloy said. “You never know if it’s legit or not, and you end up hurting a lot of people’s feelings when they come in trying to sell their autograph and you have to tell them it’s not really worth anything.” The shop also steers clear of stocking sports apparel like official team jerseys, as big box stores like Modell’s have cornered that market. The store is also becoming a gathering spot for local sports fans, and the shop has multiple big screen TVs displaying sports at all times. “When there’s a game on, we’ll have it on,” Maloy said. “I’ve got guys that come in to watch the game for a little while and talk sports.” Fans can also indoctrinate their newborns into the world of sports fandom, as the store carries a selection of baby items adorned with team logos and colors.
