Lined and Harold Roberts are a formidable duo. There is
just something about this bay walking machine that we
all love. He is thrilling to watch .
Again I must make mention of the fact that all week
long the spectators have enthusiastically cheered,
whooped, hollered and clapped for their favorites, it is
exciting to hear and to watch as each has their personal
cheering section. Keep it up-----we love hearing you.
I have been snorting and coughing all week and my
feet are permenately red from the wonderful dusty Mill-
er footing. I just know the staff at the motel think those
horse show folks have some kind of strange red crap
they leave in the tub and on the towels! One more night
and another International will be history.
August 4th. Starting early on this last day/night in or-
der for all to get a start on the road home. Starting early
on this last day/night in order for all to get a start on
the road home. A 2 o’clock start was another of Tommy
Hall’s good ideas as it gave to folks near by a chance to
load up and get home before tooooo late.
Several things stick in my mind concerning the show
on Saturday. There were multiple first time persons to
“carry the roses”! Patty Pollack was grinning ear to ear as
she guided My Little Black Dress to the lighted area for
her win shot. She told us that this was her first time to
wear the roses while in western attire.

He’s Pretty Reckless won two sets of roses for ecstatic
owner Angie Runnels of Cape Girardeau, Missouri. Ear-
lier Mia Walker had won the roses on “Roany Pony” a
first for her also and tears were flowing down her young
cheeks. It has been several years since Mia competed at
The International and as always she made a flawless ride.
I mentioned the Racking Horses earlier in the week
and Saturday night they showed up to put on a show for
the walkers! Winning his first set of roses was Nicholas
Ellis on the Morris entry of Jazz Valor! When I asked
Nicholas IF Jazz Valor would carry the roses he replied”
I don’t know, we’ve never tried it”! Carry the roses he
did and he stated that the Missouri Racking horse crew
would be back to The International, they said they loved
it! We loved watching them strut around the ring---I
wish we had all breed shows in our area----miss seeing
the other breeds,
This International offered a Walk Only Class this year.
In this class for riders 11 and under a youth who has
not shown previously unassisted may enter the class and
if they so desire have an attendant. There was only one
entry and I do not know if people did not know what
to do or what; but lead line participants, you could have
been judged in this class and it is an excellent place for
inexperienced riders to get the feel of a show ring.
High Point Horses and Riders were announced. The
