Association Scoop Walking Horses Walk On At Illinois Horse Fair The Illinois Walking Horse Asso- ciation represented the Tennessee Walking Horse and helped promote the Walking Horse Owners’ Asso- ciation at this year’s Illinois Horse Fair. Over the course of the event, the group staffed a breed booth, greeted visitors at their horses’ stalls, and orchestrated a nine horse breed domo. Additionally, they had a vendor booth where the group’s youth members sold hand-made items to raise funds to help them travel to out of state horse shows. Items for sale included tail bags, dream catchers made from old horse shoes, and a variety of wood- en signs with horse related messag- es. The Illinois Horse Fair, which is Illinois’ largest horse expo, was held March 3-5 at the State Fairgounds in Springfield, Illinois. Northwest Horse Fair Features Walking Horses The Tennessee Walking Horse Association of Oregon did a fine job representing our breed and promoting the Walking Horse Owners’ Associaiton at this year’s Northwest Horse Fair. Held March 24-26 at the Linn County Fair & Expo Center in Albany, Oregon, 10 • Walking On this year’s event attracted visitors from throughout the West. Attac- tions included a Breyer horse show, a Mustang Adoption Challenge, top-level clinicians Ken McNabb and Van Hargis, and a huge trade fair.
