Bits & Pieces Dr. Kris Herman and Audrey Hepburn Excel In Cowboy Dressage Dear Walking On, My mare, Audrey Hepburn, and I recently competed at the Cowboy Dressage World Gathering and Finals Show, held September 8-11 in Rancho Murieta, California. There were 139 horses that competed at the show, with almost 950 test rides. There were entries from California, Washington, Oregon, Montana, Utah, Idaho, Texas, Canada, and Australia. We rode nine gaited horse amateur tests over three days of competition, winning eight out of the nine tests and winning the belt buckle for the gaited amateur hi point. In addition, we won the “soft feel” hi point award buckle for the gaited division (both open and amateur). AND we took home a saddle for the show overall amateur hi point award. While winning the saddle was really exciting, what was more exciting in my mind was we took home a beautiful bridle for the highest amateur individual test score of the show with an 89%. In fact, there were only four scores in the 80s at the entire show (80%, 87%, 87%, and 89%) and Audrey Hepburn and I received all four of these scores! –Kris Kris accepting the amateur hi point saddle award from Mr. Garn Walker, one of the Cowboy Dressage World founders. 7
