In The Spotlight At Equine Affaire For the second straight year, the Walking Horse Owners’ Assocaition (WHOA) was proud to assist in the promotion of the Tennessee Walking Horse at Equine Affaire, Ohio. Expanding its presence over last year, this year WHOA had a 10’ x 20’ booth with an adjacent stall in the Breed Pavilion, which was located in the Voinovich Center. The booth, which was staffed by WHOA President Dee Dee Miller, Executive Director Tommy Hall, and Sarah Gee, featured colorful displays, informative breed and association literature, unique giveaways, and, for the first time, gift shop merchandise including t-shirts, hoodies, caps, and Maggie Moore’s book Walking With Friends. To say everything was well received would be a huge understatement. The stall adjacent to the booth housed a variety of Tennessee Walking Horses at different times throughout the event. Kudos to the Mid Ohio Walking Horse Association for coordinating all the horses that rotated in and out of the stall over the four days of Equine Affaire. In addition to the booth and stall, WHOA was involved with a breed demo as well as an exhibition that offered visitors the chance to interact, up close and personal, with a Tennessee Walking Horse. During the exhibition Dee Dee Miller and trainer Mikal Spooner discussed the breed and answered questions from the audience. The Mid Ohio Walking Horse Association was also instrumental in providing horses and people for these activities.
