Association Scoop Gait versus Gate - We learned the Difference from Connie Waldo via Zoom Gait versus Gate - We learned the Difference from Connie Waldo via Zoom on Wednesday evening, October 14th, Connie Waldo joined WWHA online for a Zoom session about gaiting. She started by explaining a GATE is a doorway in the fence that a horse goes through, a GAIT of a horse is about footfall, or how they “move”. She had us think about our favorite person, and imagine them walking across the street. We’d recognize them because of how they move or gait. The same goes for horses. With the walking horse the gait is something they are bred to do - but through training you can change and encourage the best habit in gaits.
