An Amelia Island Adventure The weekend of November 8, 2014, four adventurous Tennessee Walking Horse enthusiasts, Tami Steinbrecher, Elizabeth Conti, and Larry and Jean McGevna, ventured to Florida’s Amelia Island State Park for what turned out to be a beautiful autumn trail ride. Riding My Little Black Dress, Topper’s Beaucoup Delight, Thunder, and Gabriel, the four enjoyed a miles-long ride along a gorgeous beach in absolutely perfect, Florida in November, weather. About Amelia Island State Park Amelia Island State Park is located on State Road A1A eight miles sout of Fernandina Beach. It offers over 200 acres of underdeveloped sea island recreational opportunities along miles of the most scenic shorelines in north Florida. Located where Nassau Sound meets the Atlantic Ocean, Amelia Island State Park offers visitors incredible recreational opportunities in a picturesque natural setting. There is a nearby stable that provides beach tours by horseback or you can bring your own horse to ride for miles along the beach.
