WALDENSIAN DAY 2019 Cambridge Saturday 23 February 10.30 am – 3pm Wesley Church, Christ’s Pieces, CB1 1LG Rev Nigel Uden, Moderator of the URC and Simone Maghenzani, History Tutor at Girton College who have twice visited the refugee centre of Scicli in Sicily will talk about the Waldensian-Methodist projects Mediterranean Hope and Humanitarian Corridors AND Author Jane Hawking will talk about: From Fact to Film to Faith (an excellent way to commemorate Stephen Hawking, one of the most famous people of Cambridge in modern times) DO COME AND BE AMAZED! Bring your own lunch. Hot drinks and biscuits provided. Books, Gianduiotti chocolates fresh from the factory in the Valleys etc… The International Method- ist family was present in full force with Rev. Ivan Abra- hams, General Secretary and Gillian Kingston, deputy President of the World Meth- odist Council delivering the prestigious World Methodist Peace Award to the Italian Meth- odist Church—joint with the Waldensian Church—for its effort and solidarity towards migrants and refugees in the Mediterranean.
