The program also won a State Merit Award as part of the National Crime and Violence Prevention Awards. The Award recognised the major contribution the program has made to combatting family and domestic violence in South Australia, which represents a 115 per cent increase since the program started four years ago. SHSS will double its annual funding from 2016-17 to $1.2m as part of the Australian Government’s investment in ‘Keeping Women Safe in their Homes’ programs. Family Safety Framework In 2015-126 VSS provided administrative support to 443 Family Safety Framework meetings across 18 police local service areas (LSAs). VSS won a tender to train 400 Housing SA and homelessness workers in the FSF and the use of family and domestic violence risk assessments.
