COURT SUPPORT
Victim Impact
Statement
Victims of certain serious or prescribed
offences can provide a written Victim
Impact Statement (VIS) to the sentencing
court.
In 2014-15 we helped 148 victims of
crime to write and present their VIS in
courts across South Australia.
Some victims of crime, like Nathalia,
choose to read their VIS aloud to the
court. We’re there for that, too. Sue,
one of our Court Companions, is by
Nathalia’s side while she reads her
VIS to the court.
