VPHS winner for us this year, particularly in the Victoria Park Powerade Soccer Challenge where she won Goalkeeper of the Tournament. Olwethu Ntswayi has been a versatile player who played in different positions in midfield and in defence over the past few seasons. She leaves with fantastic memories of the 2012 Cape Town Soccer tour where she ended up going home with non-matching shoes after a visit to the Ice Rink at Grand West Casino. Sinazo Ndevu has been one of the most positive voices in the team this year, always picking up the players and team’s spirit when the going got tough. Sinazo is also one of two players who played every minute of the 7 games we played in the East London soccer tournament. Our vice captain, Naledi Mooi, has a great sense of humour and there is never a dull moment when she is around. On the field she led the team well, also showing versatility by playing in different positions in the midfield and defence. promise and we look forward to seeing them filter into the first team in the coming years. On behalf of the school I’d like to thank our three coaches who coached our girls with passion and drive this year: Miss Jessi Heatley, Mr Lithemba Daile and Mr Thando Loliwe. Finally our captain fantastic Daniella Patsalos, who has represented VP 1st girls’ soccer since she was in Grade 8. This year she carried the team’s attacking and creative responsibilities on her shoulders as she was responsible for play-making, creating and scoring goals. She did this with very little fuss, leading the team quietly and with distinction. We will no doubt miss these ladies as they formed an integral part of VP girls’ soccer for at least 3 seasons. Mr Thobela Thoba Our junior teams performed admirably throughout the season, showing great levels of discipline and commitment to the game. Our second team was led proudly by Kelly Johnson, Micaela Primmer, Kerryn Daines and Amber Drahota who led the team outstandingly. Our U/15 beginner girls show a lot of 200
