VPHS on and the girls came away with many memories and lessons learnt on and off the field. We had many injuries throughout the season, but the team never seemed to give up and they persevered through the rocky patches and went from strength to strength. They showed great dedication and passion for the game and made not only me, but VP, proud as well. They might not have come out with the results on paper, but on and off the field, as their coach I can definitely say I was so privileged to have coached a great bunch of ladies, who showed me that even through tough times there is always going to be reason to laugh. I will miss the girls but I believe there is plenty of talent and if they keep playing and training hard they will find their end goal. Thank you to the team for making it a memorable year. U16B Louise Pretorius Back Row: Cleeshen Brink, Luyolo Montsi, Roxann Vonwalsleben, Abigail Pitie (vice captain) Front Row: Monique McMurtrie, Shannon Stephens, Mrs Nel, Rebecca Stols (captain), Bronwyn Schnetler The u16B team was made up of both under 16B and C players this season, as we did not have enough players for a full U16C team. A bunch of very keen, very energetic players embarked on what would prove to be a very memorable season. Although we did not come away victorious too often, we showed everyone what the true meaning of the “spirit of a true winner” is. The girls played their hearts out in every game and made me a very proud coach. The dedication and determination of the team showed over and over again and they returned to practice each Monday with a smile, ready for the new week with new challenges. I wish my whole team well for next year and hope what they have learnt will help them in their future hockey seasons. Mrs J Nel 162
